Online and face to face supervision at Basecamp Chepstow
I am an integrative therapist, trained in the three main modalities: CBT, Person-centred and Relational Psychotherapy. I work predominantly in the NHS, in two roles: one within Primary Care and the other in the Sexual & Reproductive Health Directorate.
My dual role has given me experience working within a short term, solution-focussed/behaviour change framework and in a longer term, supportive capacity where clients are coming to terms with life changes.
I have particular expertise in counselling people with an HIV diagnosis and in counselling women who have undergone the termination of a pregnancy.
Last year I completed the NHS Clinical Supervision course, which mirrors the University of South Wales’ supervision course in content.
As a supervisor, I understand the anxiety of seeing your first clients, completing the case study, negotiating boundaries, encountering grey ethical areas and potential safeguarding issues when working with some of the most disadvantaged clients in the country. My approach is an intersubjective one where we work in a safe, non-judgemental environment to discuss and, when necessary, problem-solve together.
